All things must come to end... It was a long trip but seemed to fly by. It was particularly nice to have gotten all the time changes between Iceland and home out of the way!
Silversea arranged a charter flight for all back to Winnipeg. We disembarked around 9 AM and went via buses and tundra buggies to "downtown" Churchill to spend the morning before the arrival of our plane, which was bringing the passengers for the next voyage. We had a few hours to wander around town, pop into the gift shops that opened specifically for us and have an early lunch in restaurants in town. Each bus was assigned to a specific time and restaurant.
Our incoming plane was a bit late so we had awhile to hang around the airport too. When the flight arrived there was quite a bit of greeting between passengers and incoming staff who had traveled together before.
We booked a hotel at the Winnipeg airport for the night since there was no guarantee that the charter would arrive in time for us to connect. That turned out to be a wise move as it took a very long time for the luggage to be unloaded once we arrived in Winnipeg. People with connecting flights were quite stressed, but in the end I think most made it.
