From Svartifoss we continued on up and over to the picturesque turf-roofed farm settlement Sel , abandoned in 1946. The lush farmland perches over the barren sandar below. After visiting the farmhouses and petting some horses we looped back down and through the campgrounds back to the visitor's center, stopping for a snack.
