A few ship observations

Silver Suite
Deck Six, aft
We booked a Silver Suite, the largest cabin, 361 sq. ft including the balcony. We were on Deck six, with just four cabins - outside was the back deck with the spa on one side and fitness center on the other and then a hot tub with nice lounge chairs at the back. It was like our private deck.

The Hotel Director was nice enough to give me a tour of all of the regular suites, with and without veranda, before we disembarked. There is a slightly different layout to the cabins. Some have the couch on the wall opposite the bed, some have the couch in a recessed space on the door side, adding more square ft to that area. Some have a small table at the couch, some have a longer desk/counter.

Each suite has two closets - long hanging space with one bottom drawer each. There are three more drawers built Into the desk/long counter area, plus two bed side drawers and drawers under the bed. There is also a closet for the life jackets and safe, which probably could hold some stuff. There was a similar amount of storage, with a different layout, in our Deck six suite. And you don't need much - we had all of our cool weather Andes clothing along and had no issues with storage.

I thought that all were spacious and any would have been fine. The deck six suites, which we had, are larger, but not hugely so and we would have been just fine with a veranda suite. There was virtually no ship movement so any location would be fine.

Explorer Room
main bar
This was our fourth expedition cruise on Silversea, the other three were on the Silver Explorer. We liked the Silver Galapagos a lot, and thought the whole ship was fresh, contemporary and well thought out.

A few differences I noted were that the Explorer Room, used for daily briefings, as well as the main bar, were much better laid out on the Silver Galapagos.

The dining room is more casual than that on the Explorer, and the Grill on Deck 5 is much better suited to outside dining, as you would expect for a ship that is based in the tropics.
