Punta Pitt is on the northern tip of San Cristobal and offers a chance to see all three species of boobies found in the Galapagos, take a good hike and spend time with sea lions and iguanas down on the beach. Options for the afternoon included a two hour hike, time on the beach with snorkeling or zodiac tours. We opted for the hike, starting from the beach at the base of a massive tuff cone.
The area has been shaped by wind and water for thousands of years, producing beautiful cliffs and an extensive plateau. To reach this plateau we hiked up through a steep ravine and the side of the eroded volcanic cone. We continued our hike on the plateau on top with sweeping panoramic views
